  1. Fun! We use hemp for nighttime and it keeps my son nice and dry. For the holidays I plan to not buy any wrapping supplies and just reuse bags and ribbon I've saved from gifts I received in past years.

  2. We have replaced almost all of our microfiber inserts for our pocket diapers with hemp ones. I love that it is a natural fiber, and it is the most absorbent material I have found.

For the holidays I am making almost all of the gifts we're giving. A few will be bought, but will still be handmade or in some way earth-conscious.

  3. I love hemp for nightime, but we only have a small amount of it. It is so great for keeping the baby feeling dry all night! This Christmas we are trying to make as many presents as possible. I will also be making some drawstring bags to use for wrapping.

  4. I love hemp in our pockets!
For Christmas, I plan to make lots of gifts instead of buying "things" people don't appreciate!

  5. We only use hemp as inserts. We had so many problems with MF stink that we completely switched. LOVE hemp!

For Christmas, all gifts are handmade and wrapped in handmade bags. :)

  6. We are just venturing into replacing the microfiber inserts for our pockets but I'm lost - I do love how less bulky it is. We are spending the holidays away from home and do not plan to buy gifts, but instead will be doing dinners or other less materialistic means of celebrating.

  7. I'm looking forward to trying hemp but haven't had a chance to do so (especially since my little one hasn't quite arrived yet!).

For the holidays I'm re-using pretty card stock to make all my gift tags - even better than having tossed it in the recycling!

  8. I haven't used hemp yet but have been wanting to get some to use overnight....maybe this will be my first hemp insert!

  9. Thanks for the giveaway! My only experience w/ hemp is inside of a Super-do. I'd love to try hemp goodness on it's own. thanks!
I'll add your giveaway to my CD giveaway list at http://mykidcenteredlife.blogspot.com tomorrow morning.

  10. I haven't tried hemp yet, but I really want to! The EFFing ladies say great things about it.

As always, I'm re-using gift bags, ribbons, etc. for gifts this holiday season. I'm also doing my best to make as many gifts as possible. I'm trying a wreath project from felted sweaters...and the sweaters all came from my parents. I love free and re-usable!

  11. Really want to try hemp because a lot of DD's pants don't fit from her bottom being too fluffy! I would like a trim, but absorbent insert and I hear hemp is the way to go!

For the holidays, I plan to make a lot of gifts so they can be personalized and I also always use bags that I've saved from previous years.

  12. I haven't used hemp in diapers yet but I am excited to try it because I know how absorbent it is, plus I love the benefits it has for babies' skin! I do have hemp cloth wipes that I love because they are so absorbent!
For the holidays this year, we are going to do an e-holiday card rather than mailing them out. Not to be cheap, but rather to reduce the amount of waste we are producing. Most people don't keep Christmas cards anyway :)

  13. I have wanted to try hemp for a while but haven't gotten around to ordering any. Baby currently leaks out of her pockets with mircofiber.

For the holidays, I plan on making my own bows out of magazine pages and using simple wrapping paper like brown paper bags that we have laying around.

  14. I haven't gotten the chance to use hemp in diapers yet, but I've herd very good things about it. I've only used fleece/cotton and microfiber.
I reuse lots of paper, I have a stash of giftbags and tissue paper that I will reuse for gifts. I'm also crocheting lots of our gifts this year

  15. I'm just starting out with cloth diapering and I've heard really good things about hemp. I've heard that it is really absorbent!

For the holidays, we are looking at buying wooden toys for our little one instead of plastic.

  16. We love hemp - so much more absorbent than microfiber so we use it exclusively for nighttime when we use pockets. Most of our hemp inserts are also much trimmer than our m/f inserts.

What we are doing that is green for the holidays? We always reuse packaging from year to year - a lot of holiday bags, boxes, etc. We're also trying to buy some used gifts (especially for DS).

  17. I'd love to try hemp just to compare it with the absorbancy with microfiber.

This year for Christmas I am going green by making my own gifts. The family are all getting home made tote bags (with a note telling them of the discounts at Target and other stores for using them) and home made bath salts.

  18. We love our Blueberries hemp/MF combo inserts but they are starting to stink :(. I would love to try hemp for overnight inserts!

For the holidays, I am making toys for DD and buying only non-MIC things for everyone else.

  19. I love hemp! We use it in our nighttime diapers already and I'd love to be able to replace some of our mf inserts for daytime, too.

For the holidays we're going to try to make as many gifts as we can or purchase handmade gifts instead of the normal mall shopping that we have done in the past.

  20. We use hemp inserts for nighttime diapers. I would ultimately like to replace all of our microfiber inserts with hemp.

For the holidays we are trying to reuse boxes and bags for gifts. I'm also trying to scale back our buying and combine with homemade gifts as well.

  21. I'd like to try hemp because it is supposed to be so absorbent.

As for going green for the holidays I will be doing mostly homemade gifts (likely in mason jars) which is always fun!

  22. My microfiber inserts are stinky so I would love a super absorbent hemp one! For the holidays I will be going greener by not buying plastic toys for my little one.

  23. We like hemp for its absorption properties and because it is a natural fiber. I'm making lots of christmas gifts this year, and wrapping in reusable bags.

  24. I love hemp because my daughter's overnight diaper can't last without it!

For the holidays we are doing a family gift exchange to cut down on the amount of presents being purchased and wrapped. And I will be wrapping with supplies I just found while cleaning out my sewing stash.

  25. I love the trimness of hemp and that it holds so much! For the holidays everyone is getting their gifts in reusable bags and most of the older people we give to are getting homemade jams and breads!

  26. i would love to try more hemp b/c i have the most extreme pee-er. nothing seems to contain him at night. i have one hemp/MF that seems to work pretty well, but i'm not lovin' MF.
we are handing out Yummy Earth for Halloween. not really EF, but better than the HFCS stuff. we are also doing very minimal gifts (and mainly homemade).

  27. I just bought two hemp inserts-I'm excited to try them. I've wanted to for nighttime as I've read about their awesome absorbancy.
For the holidays, we're going to be making cocoa mix in ball jars that my mom had been saving. We thought it a good way to reuse what we already had and a great way to make gifts together with the kids!

  28. OOPS! Just noticed I didn't add what I'll be doing what is green for the holidays. Don't count this as an extra entry!
I save wrapping paper/ boxes/ tissue paper etc, and will be re-using those. I'm also trying to buy from WAHM types. Not sure that is eco-friendly, but it is mom friendly.
